We have a summer full of healthy fun planned for your child! Adventurers and explorers alike will enjoy taking part in science experiments, gardening, nature hikes and scavenger hunts. Your child’s leadership and cooperation skills will benefit from participation in classroom meetings. Working together with friends, your child will take part in gardening, art, and drama projects.
Just like you, we know learning continues in the summer. Your child will have deliciously good fun using measurement and reading skills to learn how to grow and prepare healthy foods and snacks for the family. From recipe reading to picking out fresh produce, students will discover the culinary world.
Creativity will be flowing when children design two and three-dimensional art. Class projects such as planning a lemonade stand sale give children the chance to lend a hand to one another while having fun. Song, dance and movement activities encourage children to develop music appreciation. Field trips to the zoo, museums, music events, library and state parks provide children opportunities to further research areas of interest.
Each week has a theme around which activities are planned. Your child’s physical development and sportsmanship will benefit from basketball, soccer, kickball and t-ball games. Students will get a chance to use their math and writing skills to plan track and field day events for their class.
